“Love Yourself” This Valentine’s Day

February 10, 2017

Hello Dolls!

Who says Valentine’s Day is just for couples? It should also be a time to enjoy and appriciate friends, family, and yourself! You should spend it doing the things that you love and makes you happiest. I am throwing a Gal-entines Day event,“Love Yourself”, and, in its honor, I have created a list of ways to show love and appreciate yourself because you totally deserve it!

1. Receive an (almost) complimentary makeover at your favorite makeup counter.

Having a professional makeup artist definitely takes a lot off your shoulders when getting ready for a special occasion. However, these “free” makeovers aren’t actually free. Unless your artist is feeling generous, you will typically have to make a minimum amounted purchase. Typically, you could simply do a walk-in, but for this day in particular, I would strongly advise making an appointment at least a few hours in advanced! Whether it’s for a date night or to find a new color, hit up Sephora, MAC, or any department store cosmetics section to achieve that perfect look:

2. Valentines Day Boot Camp

A great way to love your body is by getting a good workout class in before you holiday-bing on chocolates! Plus, it’s a great way that you can bond with your Valentine, and they usually give discounts for first-timers. Here’s a list of non-membership required facilities to get a good sesh in.

New York Pilates

Switch Playground

Box + Flow

Swerve Fitness
AKT In Motion
Ailey Extension

3. Spa Day

Here’s another activity you can do this with bae! And even if it’s solo or with the girls, there’s no better way to love yourself than to get refreshed and pampered at some of these top destinations:

Haven Spa
Vada Spa
Skin Spa
Massage Envy

The Spa at the Mandarin

4. Love Your Mind

Hide away from the V-Day craziness by spending some time at your favorite coffee shop, local library, or a quiet spot that’s perfect for enjoying a good book or putting your thoughts down in writing. One of the most important parts of our body that we must work out is our mind. These are some of my top reads to get lost in.

The Bomb Life by Claire Sulmers
Secrets of Six Figure Women by Barbara Stanny

Capture Your Style by Aimee Song

Girl Code by Cara Alwell Leyba

The Fashion Book by Phaidon Editors

Man Repealer by Leandra Medin

5. V-Day Shopping Spree

It’s great when you can treat yourself to a new outfit or two, but it’s even better when you can get it at a sweet deal! So many retailers are giving discounts for this special day. Here of some of my favorite shops with special, holiday promos!

Kay Jeweler

Ralph Lauren

Forever 21

Victoria’s Secret

As stated prior, I will be hosting a “Love Yourself” event on February 13th from 4 to 9PM at Eleven Consignment Boutique where you can be styled by me, enjoy h’orderves, and receive 40% off clothing and shoes!
