Statement tees have certainly floated in and out of fashion but seem to make a cool and interesting statement, regardless of the era. This trend made their debut in the late 60’s and 70’s when t-shirts were just starting to be worn daily by men and women alike. Later, they were spotted on 80s band shirt, and let’s not forget the late 90s/early 2000s Paris Hilton-esque baby tee (hello Juicy Couture!). Although they took a bit of a hiatus in the late 2000s/early 2010s, they have come full circle over the past couple of years. However, coming from someone who is constantly dressed up, this trend can easily be made glamours when paired with dressier basics.
